PAST & PRESENT

Montgomery College’s first classes were held in the evenings at a local high school on September 16, 1946. Our total enrollment was 186 men and women. Today, we serve nearly 60,000 students a year as they pursue a wide variety of educational goals.

The Workforce Development & Continuing Education (WD&CE) programs at Montgomery College provide a wide range of pre- and post-degree educational offerings and services designed to meet the needs of county residents and businesses. Individuals in career transitions, reentering the workforce, and maintaining current technical skills, as well as those seeking lifelong educational enrichment experiences, are among the approximately 25,000 students of the WD&CE programs each year. With more than 1,700 courses offered year-round, our course offerings reflect the ever-changing needs of the businesses and communities we serve.

The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School believes in business success, but not solely as an end unto itself. It should be the means for building a more successful society.

While the Carey Business School was established in 2007, Johns Hopkins University has been developing business leaders for more than a century. Our business alumni are as diverse as they are successful—from former U.S. President Woodrow Wilson and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to environmental activist Rachel Carson and author John Barth.

Carey is quickly emerging as a leader in business education. Forbes named our Global MBA program one of the 10 most innovative business school programs in world while online grad school guide Graduate Programs ranks the school as a Top 20 business school according to graduate students surveyed.
